Focus Area: Overall Livelihoods

The work of the Livelihoods PA is centered on improving labour market outcomes for the most vulnerable constituencies in the labour markets, namely, women, migrant workers and micro-entrepreneurs. Our PA takes a two-pronged approach towards addressing the employment crisis in India. Firstly, we aim to centre the dignity and well-being of workers, and improve working conditions across a range of sectors for the most precarious workers. Secondly, we also aim to engage the market and catalyse job creation in aspirational sectors that can absorb the country’s growing workforce.
