Focus Area: Gender in Agriculture

Gender plays a crucial role in Indian agriculture, with women contributing significantly to the sector as both farmers and labourers. However, there is also a need to address existing gender disparities effectively. Working around systemic issues like land ownership rights and cultural biases, whilst also empowering women in agriculture with access to timely credit, technology, entrepreneurial guidance and inclusion in policies is the need of the hour.
