This company’s Accelerator Programme promotes tech-driven water conservation solutions by rigorously evaluating early-stage innovators and offering structured mentorship to help scale impactful business models. In partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras’ ICCW, the programme provides technical expertise and guidance to support these ventures.
OBJECTIVE OF THE CSR ENGAGEMENT
The company wanted to build a long term flagship programme and find solutions to pressing challenges while leveraging its own competencies in technology, product innovation and design.
OUR APPROACH
Sattva’s Strategic Approach for a Water Accelerator Programme
- Identified three core water challenges—source contamination, inefficient distribution, and infrastructure gaps—through comprehensive research.
- Designed the implementation model and selected IIT Madras’ ICCW as the technical partner for the programme.
- Sattva now supports the company in the selection of grantees, branding & communications, and M&E of the programme.
OUTCOMES and IMPACT
- Onboarded four early-stage startups addressing critical water challenges with grants up to ₹30 lakhs each, along with business and technical mentorship.
- Enabled the development of solutions such as:
- A low-cost, open-source water test kit that enables citizens to easily monitor water quality.
- A mobile app for lake restoration that enhances community-driven water conservation efforts.
- AI-driven leak detection and robotic monitoring tools for efficient water pipeline inspection and maintenance.
- AI/ML applications for aquaculture, algae-based sewage recycling, and the digitalization of water treatment plants to improve water quality and accessibility.
- Strengthened the company’s impact narrative in water conservation and tech-driven social innovation.
