Debaranjan Pujahari is an accomplished professional with 16 years of experience in the social impact space leading the delivery of innovative and result-oriented solutions for agriculture development, food, and nutrition security.
His holistic work experience and various assignments has made him adept at program design and management, policy advocacy and team management. As Principal for Sattva Knowledge Institute at Sattva, he is responsible for strategic advisory to Sattva’s clients by building thought leadership, practitioner and influencer engagement, and sales.
Prior to joining Sattva, Debaranjan has held leadership positions at a multitude of development agencies including IFPRI-HarvestPlus, TechnoServe, Michigan State University to lead high-impact, transformative programs with donors like BMGF, USAID, FCDO, World Bank, and private corporations. In these roles he worked on large-scale, multi-geography programs across the agriculture value chain, market development, nutrition, women’s economic empowerment, and climate-smart agriculture. He is a member of the Selection and Screening Committee of Atal New India Challenge, a flagship program of Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.
Debaranjan holds a Bachelor’s in Agriculture and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Statistics from Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology. He also has an MBA in Agribusiness from National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM), Jaipur. After this, Debaranjan went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in International Public Policy from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University, Washington DC.
Sattva helps him apply his knowledge to solving complex problems with innovative solutions and influence investment in the sector by engaging with decision-makers. He is here to make transformational change in the lives of small farmers through knowledge, networking and integration. Debaranjan aspires to be a thought leader in the agriculture sector.
